A unique calendar to celebrate the centenary of the Henrietta Cresswell Book, Winchmore Hill: Memories of a lost village in 2012.

The Calendar combines written extracts from the one hundred year old book with old images from around the Winchmore Hill village Green area in an informative and interesting way.

The Green was the centre of the old village and we hope that you can relive the history of the area as you look and walk around it.

Many of the old landmarks have gone but it's still possible to pick out key buildings and areas in the old pictures.

Each month, try to work out where the image was taken and what is there now, point out the history of the area to your children on the way to school , or just wonder at how the area once looked way back.

There are stories on every corner and street and you don't need to go into London to find amazing things from history - it's on our doorstep..
