The Queens Head has an Oktoberfest this week from 17th - 24th September
All this week at the Queens Head we are celebrating the worlds’ biggest beer festival based in Munich, Germany.
Our chefs will be preparing fresh daily specials using Bavarian & German ingredients and recipes.
Dishes over the week will include:
Meat platter with a variation of German sliced sausages and salamis, duck & bacon pate, olives & cornichons
Schweinsbraten - German style roast pork with creamy mushroom sauce & hand cut chips
Bratwurst white sausage with mashed potatoes, sauerkraut & mustard
Home-made apple strudel with creamy vanilla ice cream
Of course we understand you will need a fine beer to wash this great food down, so why not try something different. The Queens Head has gone to some effort to source some celebrated beers from one of the worlds’ greatest beer making nations.
Bitburger lager
One of Germanys’ biggest beer exports, Bitburger is brewed with the best of ingredients in the same traditional way it has been for years.
It has a crisp, strong hop taste and a fast-growing
fan base in the UK market.
Weisse biers.
Weisse bier (white beer or wheat beer) is a Bavarian specialty beer where a large amount of malted barley is replaced with malted wheat. Produced under strict purity laws, the bottle conditioning gives the beer a distinct cloudy look.
We have two weissebiers for you to enjoy:
Schofferhofer – a caramel and orange colour beer with a creamy white head and full of flavour with fruity hints. Pour slowly and enjoy.
Erdinger – An undisputed classic in the weissebier world, it is quite simply the wheat beer par excellence.
Years of experience and constant quality checks guarantee the beer’s unmistakable flavour.
Come and enjoy the best of Germany and try something new. Watch out for forthcoming global food and drink offers and keep up to date via Facebook – Queens Head Winchmore Hill.
